Dekalb County CEO Vernon Jones to be Honored by Friends of Emory Forest and Park Pride with Green Space Award March 18

WHAT: The Woolford B. Baker Green Space Award Presentation, hosted by the Friends of Emory Forest and Park Pride. The event is not open to the public, but press seating will be available.

The Woolford B. Baker Green Space Award is presented annually to an individual who has made extraordinary contributions to the establishment or preservation of green space in the community. This yearŐs recipient is Vernon Jones, chief executive officer of DeKalb County. The award is named for Woolford B. Baker, a former Emory University biology professor who devoted his time and energy to create a beautiful and green environment for the Emory community.

The award is sponsored by The Friends of Emory Forest (FOEF) and Park Pride. Established in 1999, The FOEF supports reforestation and forest maintenance throughout the Emory campus. Park Pride is dedicated to involving the community in enhancing quality of life through the protection and improvement of more than 5,000 acres of parks throughout Atlanta and DeKalb County.
