Emory Hosts Symposium on Science and the Law

Emory University School of Law will examine the integral role that that science plays in the lawmaking process at the 2008 Randolph W. Thrower Symposium, Thursday, Feb. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in the school's Gambrell Hall, 1301 Clifton Rd. This year's symposium – "Legal Science: An Interdisciplinary Examination of the Use and Misuse of Science in the Law" – brings together panels of experts to discuss how scientific theories, studies and evidence influence legal proceedings.

Panelists for the symposium include Emory Law associate professor Julie Seaman and alumna Chilton Davis Varner, a partner at King & Spalding in Atlanta. A detailed agenda with the complete list of panelists is listed below.
