Through internal and external strategic partnerships, the Institute amplifies the research, teaching and service priorities across Emory, as well as at other universities, foundations and organizations.The following partners include Emory-based and national organizations.

HEALTH AND HEALTHCARE

The Alliance for a Healthier Generation, a joint initiative of the American Heart Association and the William J. Clinton Foundation, selected Emory University’s Institute for Advanced Policy Solutions to conduct a process and outcomes evaluation of the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Healthcare Initiative, launched in early 2009. The collaboration is the nation’s first comprehensive research study evaluating clinical interventions for childhood obesity. The study will help inform the science base and uncover effective clinical solutions to the childhood obesity epidemic.

The Emory Center on Health Outcomes and Quality is a multidisciplinary health services research center. Established in 2001, the Center includes academic researchers as well as applied researchers, data programmers and project managers who bridge science, policy, education and practice to improve health outcomes.

The Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease (PFCD) is a diverse coalition of more than 100 of the nation's leading health care stakeholders committed to raising awareness of the number one cause of death, disability, and rising health care costs in the U.S.: chronic disease.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is the nation's premier public health agency-working to ensure healthy people in a healthy world. The CDC, a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the primary Federal agency for conducting and supporting public health activities in the United States.

ENTITLEMENT REFORM
The Peter G. Peterson Foundation is dedicated to increasing public awareness of the nature and urgency of several key challenges threatening America's future, and to accelerating action on them. To address these challenges successfully, the Peter G. Peterson Foundation works to bring Americans together to find sensible, long-term solutions that transcend age, party lines and ideological divides in order to achieve real results.

The Institute and Emory's Institute for Health Productivity Studies (IHPS) have teamed up with the Peterson Foundation to bring academic resources into policy debates and day-to-day business decisions, and health and productivity management issues into academia.

POVERTY
The Institute and Emory's Office of University-Community Partnerships (OUCP) have teamed up to combat issues facing poverty in several different cities within the United States.
