The Institute has developed a bimonthly lecture series, entitled Health System Transformation, in partnership with the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention, to create a larger forum of discussion regarding health system transformation, health care
reform, and health policy. Through these seminars, participants will gain a broader knowledge and understanding of critical
elements of the U.S. health system, health security, and the role of public health and health policy. The presentations and
discussions have encouraged exploring possibilities for policy change and opportunities for health leadership across sectors.

The conference brought together ministers of health from the 53 Member States in the WHO European Region. Nearly 500
participants- high-level delegations, health systems partners, experts, observers and representatives of international and civil society organizations and the media - attended the two-and-a-half day event designed to place health systems high on the political
agenda June 25-27, 2008.

The Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease (PFCD) hosted a major forum on health reform, featuring discussion from some of the most influential players in health care. The event was co-sponsored by Emory's Institute for Advanced Policy Solutions, AARP's Divided We Fail, and Partnership for Prevention. More than 220 attendees from business, health care, media, and Capitol Hill talked about what is at stake for health reform in 2009 in light of the changes in Congress and the Administration, and how feasible it will be to build consensus for comprehensive reform.
