An Atlanta native, Mr. Kent Alexander became senior vice president and general counsel for the University in January 2000.

Formerly a partner with the law firm of King & Spalding, he also served for over a decade in the United States Attorney's office in Atlanta, first as an assistant and later as the presidentially appointed U.S. Attorney. He has also written and lectured extensively, including teaching at the law school.

Mr. Alexander received his bachelor's degree from Tufts University in 1980 and his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1983. His current organizational board affiliations include the Georgia Building Authority, State Properties Commission, Hands On Atlanta (co-founder), U.S. Magistrate Judge Selection Panel (chair), and the American Jewish Committee, Atlanta Chapter (immediate past president).
