Overview

The Office of the President helps carry forward Emory's mission of teaching, research, and service through a wide range of activities and relationships on and off campus.

As the chief administrative officer of the University, the President reports to the Board of Trustees and chairs the University Cabinet, whose members together have responsibility for all areas of University life. In addition to Cabinet members, persons reporting directly to the President include the Dean of the Chapel and Religious Llife, the president and CEO of The Carter Center, the Chancellor of the University, and the director of the Institute for Developing Nations.   

The office staff functions with a high degree of collegiality both internally and externally, fostering communication and collaboration among all constituencies and friends of the University, while managing the President's busy schedule and supporting the President's work.  

Altogether, the six members of the immediate President's Office staff have given more than eighty years of service to Emory.
