Ellen Bailey, after being COO of Cardiology of Georgia for fifteen years, is now the director of Midtown Consulting 's healthcare practice. She focuses on business strategies and operations with an empahsis on people and technology initatives.
She was elected to the board as an alumni trustee in 1997; in November 2002 she was elected a term trustee.
Born at Emory Hospital to alumni parents, Ellen grew up in the Emory community. Her uncle, Richard Hugh Wood, was dean of the medical school and another uncle, William H. Agnor 35C 37L, who graduated from Emory, was the Thomas J. Simmons Professor of Law. Ellen's brother, the late Richard W. Agnor 56B 63MBA, and her daughter, Ruth Bailey Laurens 87Ox, also are Emory alumni. Four scholarships honor family members.
Ms. Bailey is a past president of the Association of Emory Alumni and has held numerous other leadership positions at Emory. In 1993 she received the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Goizueta Business School, and in 2001 she received the Emory Medal from the Association of Emory Alumni.
