Arthur Blank is owner & CEO of the Atlanta Falcons. He also chairs the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, which was established in 1995. He is co-founder of The Home Depot and retired from the company as co-chairman in 2001.
Mr. Blank is recognized throughout the country for his personal and professional achievements. In 2006, he was inducted in the Junior Achievement U.S. Business Hall of Fame, and was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Humanities from Furman University. In 2005 he was named National Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernest & Young. Among other previous honors, Babson College inducted Arthur into its Academy of Distinguished Entrepreneurs in 1995 and conferred on him an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws in 1998.
Elected to the Emory Board of Trustees in 1991, Arthur also serves on the boards of Outward Bound USA, The Carter Center, The Cooper Institute, Cox Enterprises, and Staples.
In September 2001 Arthur joined the faculty of the Goizueta Business School as its Distinguished Executive in Residence. He now serves as a Goizueta Executive Fellow. A native of Flushing, New York, he holds a BS degree in business administration, with distinction, from Babson College.
He was elected an Emory trustee in 1991.
