William T. McAlilly is the resident bishop of the Nashville Area, elected in July 2012. He has served in a wide variety of ministry settings in Georgia and Mississippi—from a small membership church in the Mississippi Delta, to a new congregation in the suburbs of Memphis, to a newly organized congregation in Madison, Mississippi, to a large membership congregation in Tupelo.

In 2006 McAlilly was appointed to serve the Seashore District of the Mississippi Conference in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

He was elected trustee in 2012.
