
Lawrence M. Benveniste, Ph.D., is dean of Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. He also holds the academic position as the Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Finance.
Prior to his current role, Benveniste served as Dean of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. He rose to the rank of dean from his faculty position as the U.S. Bancorp Professor of Finance at the University of Minnesota. He has also served on the faculties of Boston College and the University of Rochester, and worked as a staff economist for the Board of Governors at the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Benveniste serves on the Board of Advisors of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the Board of the American Israeli Chamber of Commerce. He also sits on the boards of Rimage Corporation and Alliance Data Systems Corporation.
Benveniste received his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley and his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Irvine. His doctoral research on the economics of capital accumulation set new standards in the field.
He came to Emory in July of 2005.
