WHAT TO BRING | ACCESSING THE INTERNET | RECEIVING MAIL
The following is a list of items residents typically bring with them when they come:
- Full-size sheet set and pillows
- Toiletries and towels
- Dishes, glasses, and silverware
- Dish and laundry detergent
- Clothing
- Iron and ironing board
- Television with cable
- Computer*
- Stereo
- Alarm clock
Certain items, including pets, are not permitted in our residential buildings. Please review the list of prohibited items in the “Prohibited Items” section of the Terms and Conditions in the SIHP License.
Residents with computers must have an Emory-issued username and password to access the Emory Network. Residents will receive a special username and password at check-in. Instructions on accessing the network will be given with the username. Computers may need to be scanned or inspected before being allowed on the network.
SIHP staff will be present at your check-in to assist you with any questions you may have. Housing staff is not allowed to carry any personal belongings, but hand trucks are available for your use to move your items into and out of your apartment. Hand trucks may be checked out from the Student Activity & Academic Center with photo identification.
You will be assigned a mailbox which will be located in the Student Activity and Academic Center.

Do NOT put your mailbox number in the address; the "#210" refers to the SIHP Office and we will sort and deliver the mail to the intern mailboxes.
NOTE: If you are a current Emory student you will keep your on-campus mailbox in the DUC and will not get a box at Clairmont Campus.
