Emory is not only working to build strong schools and academic, research, and major operating units, but is also focusing attention on five strategic themes, which link to the success of the schools and units and align with one or more of the University's goals. Themes are supported through several initiatives that touch every corner of campus, and are being implemented in concert with the school and unit plans.
The themes leverage Emory's multiple strengths and provide opportunities for positive, transformative impact on Emory's community and the broader world. The strategic themes recognize faculty, student, staff, alumni, community resources and needs, while at the same time delineating an intellectual agenda that drives the reputation of the University. Click here for the strategic theme framework of the plan.
As indicated in the framework, each theme has three or four associated major University-wide initiatives. Initiatives describe the specific means through which the University will accomplish its goals. Each school, academic, research, and major operating unit is central to the implementation of each of the strategic themes and play a major role in forming and advancing the University-wide initiatives.
