The Winship Cancer Institute at Emory is Georgia's first and only cancer center designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The Winship Cancer Institute is dedicated to the integration of innovative clinical and basic science research with outstanding patient care for the prevention, treatment and control of cancer. It brings people together. Researchers, physicians, epidemiologists, nurses, engineers, and social workers come to work each day in order to take one step closer to eliminating cancer. It is a team approach, that reflects our commitment to an interdisciplinary and collaborative search for answers to why we get cancer, how we can prevent cancer, and how we can cure cancer. There is no place in Georgia that takes a more aggressive approach to finding these answers.
