Law School celebrates 80th anniversary
Marvin Arrington '67L, president of the Atlanta City Council and member
of the Emory Board of Trustees, presents a proclamation to Dean Woody Hunter
naming Sept. 25 "Emory University Law School Day" in the City
of Atlanta. Sept. 25 marked the 80th anniversary of the first opening convocation
for students at the law school. Faculty, students and alumni were on hand
for a noontime celebration, complete with ice cream and cake, in the law
school's Bacardi Plaza. Dean Hunter, who welcomed Arrington and other guests,
noted that among the law school's first graduates were Eleonore Raoul and
Harry Green, "who married and lived happily ever after for many years."
