Memorial service for Dean of Alumni Jake Ward is Nov. 4

Judson C. "Jake" Ward ’33C-’36G, dean of alumni and for many decades a beloved and iconic member of the Emory family, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 1, after a long decline while recuperating from hip
surgery. He was 97 years old and had entered Emory College 80 years ago this fall, graduating in the depth of the Depression and going on to a distinguished career in higher education, most of it spent at his alma
mater.

A memorial service will be held in Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ward's name to Glenn Memorial UMC or to the Judson C. Ward Scholarship Fund at Emory University.
