A ceremony that honors the achievements of the graduating Latinx community. The ceremony is hosted in both English and Spanish. This is a virtual ceremony that will be streamed on the Emory YouTube channel.

First-Generation Low Income (F.L.I.) Graduation

A graduation celebration of the resilience, integrity, scholarship, and empowerment of students who are among the first generation of college graduates in their families. This is a virtual ceremony that will be streamed on the Emory YouTube channel.

Class Day

Class Day is organized by a student committee and kicks off the weekend of commencement celebrations. This year the ceremony features a keynote and Q & A with Senator Jon Ossoff and the presentations of the Boisfeuillet Jones Medals, Brit Katz Award, Lightkeeper of Emory Award, and the Knights of Emory Spirit Awards. Class Day 2021 is virtual and will be aired on the Commencement website.

The Diploma ceremony will feature remarks by the Director of the Emory Genetic Counseling Training Program, Dr. Cecelia Bellcross, in addition to Emory University President, Dr. Gregory Fenves. The Commencement will feature remarks by the Dean of the School of Medicine, Vikas, P. Each year, we look forward to celebrating graduating seniors and sending them into the world with blessings in the Multifaith Baccalaureate Ceremony. This year, a group of Emory seniors, chaplains, faculty, staff, and affiliates collaborated to create a virtual Multifaith Baccalaureate for the Class of 2021 to be broadcast at on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. Eastern. Baccalaureate is an Emory Commencement tradition that formally celebrates the academic and personal journeys of the graduating senior class and sends the class into the world with music, prayers, inspiring reflections, and blessings. The program will feature the following:

- Greetings by the President, Deans, Faculty, Staff, and Affiliates
- Prayers, meditations, and reflections by members of the Class of 2021
- Special music by Emory’s Voices of Inner Strength Gospel Choir

Emory University is excited to welcome back members of the Class of 2020 from across the schools to participate in a special ceremony just for Emory’s most recent alumni. As graduates, wearing cap and gown is optional, but encouraged. Be there for the bagpipe procession and hear from President Fenves, the deans of the schools, and others assembled to recognize you. Gather once more as a class to celebrate not only your accomplishments at Emory, but also the impact that you have had on the world during this past year. The event will conclude with individual recognition of all graduates present. This is the chance for the 2020 grads to finally hear their name called out as they cross the stage for a traditional graduation photo. It may be year later, but it’s time to celebrate in-person, Class of 2020. 

During the event pre-show, a special encore screening of Bryan Stevenson’s 2020 keynote address will be presented.
