The Emory Alumni Association and the Barkley Forum for Debate, Deliberation, and Dialogue will be hosting a series of conversations the day after each of the Presidential (and one Vice Presidential) campaign debates. The panel will be made up of Emory alumni and students with unique perspectives of the election process, and the discussion will be moderated by Ed Lee, Senior Director of the Barkley Forum. We hope these conversations help analyze, process, and assess issues associated with the Presidential election.

Emory Election: Post Election Analysis with Dr. Andra Gillespie

Andra Gillespie is Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the James Weldon Johnson Institute at Emory University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Government & Foreign Affairs and African American Studies from the University of Virginia. She went on to earn a Master of Arts in African American Studies and a Master of Philosophy in Political Science from Yale University, where she also earned her doctorate in 2005. Before joining the faculty at Emory, she worked as an analyst for Democratic pollster Mark Mellman.

The panel will be made up of campaign and election reporters from The Washington Post and The New York Times, a Georgia State Political Science professor, and a JD/MBA Emory student who founded the Emory Conservatarian Alumni. The discussion will be moderated by Barkley Forum Senior Director Ed Lee, III.
