Children from the Atlanta area, including Robert Shaw Elementary School's Fatima Awodu (above right), participated in an Internet2 conference held Oct. 29–Nov. 1 at the Marriott Marquis and on the Emory campus. The children used an Internet2 connection to talk back and forth between Emory and the hotel, and even used fake backdrops to pretend they were thousands of miles away from each other. Soon, children from different countries will use the program to teach each other how to turn recycled materials into handmade toys, like Fatima's bottle cap crown.
