Emory Village committee seeks board members
The Improve Emory Village steering committee is becoming a nonprofit board and seeks applications for membership.

Applicants should include their name, residential address, work address, telephone and fax numbers, and an e-mail address. They also should include a paragraph explaining why they want to serve on the board.

Applications are being accepted via mail or e-mail, which should be sent to Kathryn Gannon, 1052 Clifton Road, Atlanta, 30307 or via e-mail to kgannon@aol.com.

The deadline for applications is Friday, March 23.

Brittain Award nominees due March 30
Faculty and staff members are invited to submit nominations for the Marion Luther Brittain Award, presented to an outstanding graduating student from any division.

The award honors the student who is considered to have performed the most “significant, meritorious and devoted service to Emory” and is named for Brittain, former president of Georgia Tech and an Emory alumnus.

Nomination forms are available in 401 Dobbs Center. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 30.

Fourth annual Herstory Conference

Emory will again host the fourth annual National Black Herstory Conference, March 23–24 in White Hall.

The conference includes panel sessions about the legacy and lives of women of African descent and their alliances. Cost for the entire conference is $30, but Emory faculty, staff and students are admitted to conference sessions free. All tickets to the conference’s awards ceremony are $15.

Theme ideas needed for Staff Fest 2001
The Staff Fest Planning Committee seeks theme suggestions for this year’s event, scheduled for Friday, May 18.

The theme should emphasize the value of Emory’s employees and the festivity of the occassion. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, March 28.

Ideas should be either e-mailed or mailed to Wynell Lauver in Human Resouces at wlauver@emory.edu or 1762 Clifton Road, Room 305.
