EOP, Disability Services renovating offices
Due to remodeling, the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs and Disability Services will be closed from Friday, July 18, through Monday, July 28.

Paperwork received after July 15 will not be processed until the reopening of the office on Tuesday, July 29. The office apologizes for any inconveniences during the remodeling.

EHC going wireless
Emory Healthcare is piloting a wireless e-mail program and plans to enroll 100 doctors, nurses and allied health professionals to receive their email on their cell phones or personal digital assistants (PDAs).

A later phase of the project will widen the service to include not only e-mail but also office schedules for Emory Clinic physicians and staff, said Dedra Cantrell, chief information officer for Emory Healthcare.

“We are developing the ability to provide information in a secure manner to any web-enabled phone or PDA,” Cantrell said. “Our intent is to provide a platform that will offer our physicians and staff the ability to access their information by whatever wireless device they prefer.”

The system is being provided under contract to Emory Healthcare by Air2Web, an Atlanta wireless company. Its security will be ensured by 128-bit encryption, two-factor authentication, data masking and secure server-to-server communication.

Emory license plate deadline July 31

There is still time to reserve an Emory commemorative license plate for 2004. The Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle Safety must have 500 applications for Emory 2004 plates by July 31 of this year, or the plates will not be manufactured.

There is a one-time $25 manufacturing fee for the plates, plus an annual $25 special tag fee, in addition to normal Georgia tag renewal fees. For more information about how to apply, visit www.ia.emory.edu/TAGS/.
