EOP,
Disability Services renovating offices
Due to remodeling, the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs and
Disability Services will be closed from Friday, July 18, through
Monday, July 28.
Paperwork received after July 15 will not be processed until the
reopening of the office on Tuesday, July 29. The office apologizes
for any inconveniences during the remodeling.
EHC going wireless
Emory Healthcare is piloting a wireless e-mail program and plans
to enroll 100 doctors, nurses and allied health professionals to
receive their email on their cell phones or personal digital assistants
(PDAs).
A later phase of the project will widen the service to include not
only e-mail but also office schedules for Emory Clinic physicians
and staff, said Dedra Cantrell, chief information officer for Emory
Healthcare.
“We are developing the ability to provide information in a
secure manner to any web-enabled phone or PDA,” Cantrell said.
“Our intent is to provide a platform that will offer our physicians
and staff the ability to access their information by whatever wireless
device they prefer.”
The system is being provided under contract to Emory Healthcare
by Air2Web, an Atlanta wireless company. Its security will be ensured
by 128-bit encryption, two-factor authentication, data masking and
secure server-to-server communication.

fees. For more information about how to apply, visit www.ia.emory.edu/TAGS/.
