Mentor Emory seeks volunteers
Mentor Emory, a mentoring program for female staff members, seeks volunteers to participate as mentors.

Participants met periodically for informational "lunch and learns," and mentors and mentees also are encouraged to meet independently outside of scheduled meetings.

Humanitarian Award nominations sought by Student Activities
The Office of Student Activities is accepting nominations through Dec. 3 for the 2004 Humanitarian Awards. Nominees should have shown qualities of living their lives with honesty, integrity and community responsibility; special acts of courage benefiting others; commitment of time and energy in service to others; and special gifts of friendship.

Nomination forms are available in the Student Activities, the Dobbs Center Information Desk or the Volunteer Emory office. For more information, call 404-727-6169.

Holiday schedule released
Emory has released its holiday schedule through 2005. Four holidays remain this year; Nov. 27-28 for Thanksgiving and Dec. 24-25 for Christmas. In 2004 and 2005, Emory employees will receive nine paid holidays: New Year's Day (Jan. 1, 2004; Dec. 31, 2004), Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday (Jan. 19, 2004; Jan. 17, 2005), Memorial Day (May 31, 2004; May 30, 2005), Independence Day (July 5, 2004; July 4, 2005), Labor Day (Sept. 6, 2004; Sept. 5, 2005), and two days each for the Thanksgiving (Nov. 25-26, 2004; Nov. 24-25, 2005) and Christmas (Dec. 24, 27, 2004; Dec. 23, 26, 2005) holidays.
