Diploma Ceremonies

Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing

Global humanitarian and nurse practitioner Twilla Haynes ’80N encouraged graduates of the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing to carve out their own place in nursing history by serving others.

“The image of the nurse around the world is synonymous with helping the most vulnerable of individuals, families and communities,” she said to 113 nursing graduates. “This is our commitment. It is part of our DNA code and our moral fiber to feed a starving child, to care for sick children, to educate moms, to support the elderly and those most fragile in our communities. Remember: get involved, stay active, and you will make a difference.”

The nursing school awarded 101 bachelor of science in nursing degrees, one dual-degree masters in nursing and public health, six masters of nursing, four post-master’s degrees and one PhD.
