Advance Notice

A cool, sweet event at farmers market

If you can’t stand the heat, get out and taste some ice cream. Emory Dining sponsors an “Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social” at the Farmers Market Tuesday, June 29, on the Cox Hall Bridge. The special event is from noon to 2 p.m. with the market continuing until 5 p.m.

From noon to 1 p.m., there will be an ice cream-churning demonstration and tasting. An Emory Dining chef will make old-fashioned vanilla using Sparkman's Dairy cream and other organic ingredients. Tastings are offered at no charge.

From noon to 2 p.m., Georgia peach ice cream, made in-house, will be sold for 50 cents for a 2-oz. scoop, and a 50-cent Georgia peach compote will also be available.
