Acclaim: Dunbar, Gallivan and Murray recognized

Sandra Dunbar was presented with the 2010 Outstanding Nurse Scientist Award by the Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science. She also gave two presentations at the council’s conference.

Dunbar is the Charles Howard Candler Professor of Cardiovascular Nursing in the School of Nursing.

The award is given every two years to a nurse scientist whose sustained program of research has made a significant impact on knowledge development with recognizable benefit for nursing practice and health care. 

Justin Gallivan is a member of the PopTech Science and Public Leadership Fellows Class of 2010.

Gallivan is associate professor of chemistry in Emory College of Arts & Sciences.

The PopTech Science and Public Leadership Fellows are high-potential early- and mid-career scientists working in areas of critical importance to the nation and the planet.

Staff member Lorraine V. Murray has written another mystery novel: “Death of a Liturgist,” published by Saint Benedict Press.

Murray is public services assistant at Pitts Theology Library.

Set locally in Decatur, the book is available from the publisher, amazon.com and in local bookstores.
