A still from the award-winning documentary "The Test."

"The Test," a documentary about a unique, award-winning HIV testing campaign in Kenya, will be screened Tuesday, April 12, at 5:30 p.m. in Room 120 of the School of Medicine.

Nearly 50,000 came forward to be tested for HIV in Kakamega, Kenya, in a ground-breaking campaign aimed to combat the area's three biggest public health threats at once: HIV/AIDS, malaria and diarrheal disease. The film follows the lives of several individuals in the aftermath of the campaign.

Peter Cleary, a member of the team that produced the film, will provide commentary following the viewing.

The film is part of a spring Global Health Week from April 11-15, hosted by the Department of Pediatrics.

Other Global Health Week events include:

• April 13: Jeffrey Koplan, vice president for global health and director of Emory's Global Health Institute, will discuss GHI's involvement with the School of Medicine and opportunities for collaborating with the Department of Pediatrics.

• April 15: Parmi Suchdev, assistant professor of pediatrics and global health, will speak on "Cultural and Ethical Perspectives on Global Health."

All events are free and open to the public. RSVP to Lauren Hall 404.550.4222.
