Williams Teaching Award
This award honors faculty for fostering
participation, creativity, and inquiry in the classroom, providing
a model for teaching, and serving as a mentor for students.
The awards were established by Emory Williams, 1932 Emory alumnus
and emeritus trustee. All faculty are eligible for this award.
Recipients are nominated by recent alumni and winners are validated
by a committee comprised of Alumni Office staff, previous winners,
and the Office of the Provost. Click

Thomas
Jefferson Award
This award is presented each year to the
Emory faculty or administrator who has provided significant
service through personal activities, influence, and leadership.
This award recognizes distinguished service in the areas of
teaching, research and scholarship, non-academic accomplishments
with students, university or school advancement and development,
and community or educational service. The Office of the Provost
coordinates the nomination and award process. Click

University
Scholar/Teacher Award
This award is presented to a member of
the Emory faculty who has excelled as a classroom teacher, shown
unusual concern for students, and made significant contributions
to the scholarly life of the university. The selection committee
for this award is comprised of previous recipients and chaired
by the most recent winner. The Office of the Provost coordinates
the selection process, and the Board of Higher Education of
the United Methodist Church presents the annual award at opening

The Fleming Award
The Fleming Award is presented by Oxford College’s Board
of Counselors to recognize outstanding teaching. N. Bond Fleming,
1933 Emory alumnus and Dean of Oxford College from 1966-1976,
established this award. Applications for this award are solicited
by Oxford’s Development and University Relations office.

The Mizell Award
The Mizell Award is presented to an Oxford College faculty member
each year for demonstrating superior performance in furthering
the education of students during the previous year. The late
Mr. Robert Mizell, Jr. established this award in memory of Robert
Cotter Mizell, Jr. and Mrs. Mizell, whose lives were devoted
to improving the quality of education of Emory University. The
Dean of Oxford College chooses the award recipient; contact

The Phi Theta Kappa Teaching Award
The Phi Theta Kappa Teaching Award is given each year by Phi
Theta Kappa, a national honor society whose members rank in
the top five percent of their sophomore class. Contact Oxford
