Primary focus/responsibilities at the Center
My primary focus is the development of chemical analogs of HTS “hit” compounds toward the development of novel chemical probes. I interact daily with other synthetic chemists, perform independent syntheses, and characterize individual compounds of biological interest. I also work with biologists and modeling chemists to discuss biological results and modeling studies.
Educational/professional background
I obtained my Ph D. at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) from 2001-2006. I began my postdoctoral research with the Emory Chemical Biology Discovery Center in February 2007. I have several years of experience in the synthesis of biologically active compounds, and my research interests focus on synthetic and medicinal chemistry.
