Emory empowers the active, passionate pursuit of learning for a better world.

The university offers academic degrees and programs through nine schools. The academic year is divided into two semesters, plus a summer term.

Individual integrity is expected and respected here. A strong system of school-based honor codes safeguards the university's academic integrity. All students agree by their enrollment to abide by their school's honor code.

Emory College of Arts and Sciences (1836) is the oldest division of the university.


Oxford College (1836/1919) provides an intensive liberal arts program for freshmen and sophomores on our original campus east of Atlanta.


Goizueta Business School (1919) students benefit from the school's strong ties to the Atlanta business community.


James T. Laney School of Graduate Studies (1919) offers more than 40 doctoral programs, plus terminal master's degree, diploma and certificate programs.


School of Law (1916) students pursue their studies with a global, service-oriented approach.


School of Medicine (1854) offers an innovative curriculum developed for a state-of-the-art building.


Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing (1905) prepares students with service-oriented experiential learning.


Rollins School of Public Health (1990) focuses on behavioral sciences and health education, biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, global health, and health policy and management.


Candler School of Theology (1914) is one of 13 United Methodist Church seminaries and its student body represents dozens of denominations.

Emory acquires vast African American photo collection

A rare collection of more than 10,000 photographs depicting African American life from the late 19th and early 20th centuries has been acquired by Emory University's Manuscript, Archives and Rare Book Library (MARBL) from photo collector Robert Langmuir of Philadelphia.
