Nine Emory faculty were honored with Crystal Apple Awards for outstanding teaching on Tuesday, April 17, in Cox Hall. The awards are presented annually by the Student Government Association and Residence Life. This year’s winners were (front row, l to r) Dalia Judovitz, Annabel Martin, Marian Dolan, Amanda Starnes, Carrie Wickham, (back row, l to r) Irwin Hyatt, Frank Alexander and James Flannery (not pictured is Cyril Spann of medicine). Two winners received named awards: Wickham received the William H. Tibet Awareness Week of April 16-20 featured educational programs and cultural performances by monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery. They included sand mandala painting and Tibetan dance and music—typified the haunting sounds produced by these 10-foot-long dunchen trumpets, which echoed throughout the Dobbs Center.
