Get ready for 'One Emory Healthcare": Beginning next year, the various Emory Healthcare entities of (clockwise from top left) The Emory Clinic, Emory Hospital (and Crawford Long), Wesley Woods and the Emory Children’s Center will “unite,” as Emory Healthcare becomes their single primary employer. What the consolidation means is a more integrated health care system, which will translate into better care for patients. Emory Healthcare employees also will be covered under a single benefits package rather than individual packages for each entity.Click here or above for the full story. Children's sports and fitness camps have become a summer stable on the Emory campus, as area parents send their kids for personal instruction in baseball and softball, basketball, soccer, swimming, tennis and volleyball. All camps are organized and directed by coaches of Emory varsity sports. The summer camp schedule begins in late May and generally runs through the end of July. Some campers receive more than just instruction; baseball coach Mike Twardoski has been known to take his campers down to Turner Field to take in a session of Atlanta Braves batting practice and a game. Don Schroer, longtime men's tennis coach, offers a tennis camp with a twist: computers. His "Computer Plus Tennis" camp spends mornings on the tennis courts and the afternoons in the computer lab.
