Herstory conference in 13th year

The National Black Herstory Conference is back on Friday, March 26, beginning at 2 p.m.

"Empowering Our Communities: Self-Determined, Unified, Resourceful and Educated” is the theme of the annual event, now in its 13th year.

This Women’s History Month event will take place in the auditorium of the Whitehead Biomedical Research Building and is free and open to the public. The National Black Herstory Task Force is the conference sponsor.

The National Black Herstory Awards Banquet will take place the following evening, March 27, at the Loudermilk Center Ballroom in Atlanta. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:15 p.m. This year’s banquet celebrates the legacies of Delores Aldridge, Grace Towns Hamilton Professor of Sociology and African American Studies at Emory, and others.
