Outstanding adult educator


 

Mary Cobb Bugg Callahan ’77G

The Georgia Adult Education Association named MARY COBB BUGG CALLAHAN ’77G as its 1998–99 Outstanding Adult Educator. Callahan directed the University’s Evening at Emory community education program from 1969 to 1995 and is currently a consultant and instructor with Emory’s Senior University, which she co-founded in 1979. Senior University enrolls approximately three hundred people in a series of eight-week terms and offers courses tailored to the interests of seniors, including playwriting, philosophy, ageism, and music. She married EDWARD CALLAHAN ’50B in 1996.—G.F.
