J. Harvey Young, Candler Professor Emeritus of American Social History (seated, center), hosted a "class reunion" of former students spanning his more than 30 years at Emory. For many of those years, Young challenged students to wrote a paper on a topic, any topic, that they were passionate about. About 25 former students accepted Youngs invitation to return, and all discussed how their class experiences remain relevant in their lives. Photo by Kay Hinton.

Remembering Luboml: Images of Jewish Community is on display in Woodruff Librarys Schatten Gallery through May 31. The exhibit brings to life the 600-year history of the Jewish community of Luboml in Poland. Documents, artifacts and photographs, such as this circa 1930 image of the shtetls Great Synagogue, recreate life in the community, now buried under a mound of earth by the Nazis. Photo special to Emory Report. |
