Environmental Health and Safety Office plans safety review

Emory's Environmental, Health and Safety Office (EHSO) is planning to conduct a review of the safety and inventory of all shops and instrument repair areas on campus, including those where students are allowed to work.

This proactive measure follows the accidental death of a Yale student in a chemistry/physics lab at that university.

EHSO will work with the faculty and staff to ensure that all target areas have a current risk assessment in place.

To ensure all shop and instrument repair areas are included in this review, please contact Kalpana Rengarajan or 404.727.5922.

"Thank you for your dedication to supporting Emory University as a safe destination university," says Patty Olinger, director of EHSO.
