Massage therapy offered to employees

Tension from a strenuous workday, stiffness from sleeping in a bad position, aches from sitting at a desk or standing all day — counter these with massage therapy.

Massage therapy services are available beginning this month for Emory employees.

Occupational Injury Management  has contracted with Radiant Reflections to offer chair and table massage services at Wesley Woods Center and Emory University Hospital Midtown. Massage therapists will also be available in individual departments upon request.

The cost is $20 for every 15 minutes; $75 for a Swedish table massage. Cash, checks and all major credit cards are accepted.

"Massage and neuromuscular massage therapy reduces stress, increases blood flow, reduces muscle tension and pain and pressure on nerves," says Paula DesRoches, director of Occupational Injury Management, which is offering this service "as an additional benefit to Emory staff, aimed at enhancing the overall health and well being of our employees."
