• Fraternity House Director

The Fraternity House Director serves as the on-site manager for an Emory fraternity house and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the house. He/she is responsible for assisting with the development, health, and well-being of all residents residing in the house. The Fraternity House Director resides in the fraternity house, attends chapter meals and participates in the planning and implementation of chapter activities. Additional responsibilities include:

• Coordinate the check-in and check-out of members living in the house
• Monitor the physical integrity of the house and reporting maintenance concerns for immediate repair
• Ensure students' behaviors are consistent with appropriate living conditions regarding the physical integrity and safety of the house at all times
• Inform chapter members about policies, regulations and safety procedures in accordance with campus and fraternity policies
• Meet regularly with the House Manager, House Corporation and Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life
• Coordinate the damage billing process
• Attend weekly House Director meetings led by the Director of Operations in Residence Life & Housing
• Serve on an on-call pager shared by other House Directors
• Submit a weekly report on the chapter, housin goperations and other issues
• Performs other related tasks and responsibilities as required

Eligibility

Fraternity House Directors must be currently enrolled in a graduate program at Emory University. In addition to graduate student status, ideal candidates should have experience with fraternity or sorority life, residential living, supervision of staff, student leadership, and crisis/conflict management. Knowledge of Emory University policies and procedures is helpful.

Compensation

Currently, the compensation and benefits package for the Fraternity House Director position includes the following:

• $7,000 stipend
• Furnished one-bedroom apartment with utilities, local phone, internet and cable provided.
• Opportunity to remain in the building during summer months (with additional responsibilities.)

Training

All Fraternity House Directors are expected to return to Emory in late July for training. Fall training for House Directors will begin August 1, 2012.
