A mock zombie virus outbreak, science demonstrations, lab tours, film screenings, and hands-on activities drew hundreds of Atlanta Science Festival enthusiasts to Emory in March—including dozens of young scientists from area schools.

“The Atlanta Science Festival is a great way to feature some of the research and discoveries that are coming out of Emory for the local community,” says Jordan Rose 00C 06MPH, executive codirector of the festival with Georgia Tech’s Meisa Salaita. “It’s also a great platform for Emory students and faculty to practice their communication skills for a general audience, and to engage the public in their science.”

Emory is a founding sponsor of the annual festival.
