Sandwich-making to dent hunger

The Homeless and Hunger Week Food Drive and Residence Hall Association sandwich drive begins today, March 22, through Friday, March 26.

Donations of canned goods can be made in all central buildings on campus in specified containers.

The sandwich drive, led by the RHA, will be held in the Dobbs University Center and all are welcome to participate. The sandwich production goes on all week, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and a card of kindness is included with each one. Groups that would like to schedule a time to make sandwiches can e-mail Jaclyn Rosenzweig, who said sandwiches will be donated to organizations in the Atlanta community, including the food bank, Agape and the Boys and Girls Club.

Organizer Sarah Azizi listed a number of events, including a Hillel can donation, Los Loras night on Thursday and a table at Wonderful Wednesday.

The drive is sponsored by Volunteer Emory, the Employee Council, the Graduate Student Organization, Students Advocating Volunteerism at Emory, RHA, Graduate Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Black Student Alliance, Hillel, SPEAK and Greek Life.
