Recognizing tech transfer success

The Office of Technology Transfer is hosting the 4th Annual Celebration of Technology and Innovation Thursday, March 25, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Emory Conference Center.

Keynote speaker Joseph Allen is a 30-year veteran of national efforts to foster public/private sector commercialization partnerships. The president of Joseph Allen and Associates will address “30 Years of U.S. Technology Policy in 30 Minutes (Along with Thoughts on the Future).”

Awards will be presented for:

• Start-up of the Year: NeurOp Corporation
• Deal of the Year: Alimera Sciences, Inc., licensing agreement
• Innovation of the Year: Integrated Imaging and Spectroscopy Systems for Image-Guided Surgery
• Significant Event: BHR Pharma, LLC, Investigational New Drug submission, and acceptance of Orphan Drug Status

Emory's technology transfer program has one of the most robust product pipelines of any university in the country, with one of the nation's leading programs for guiding technology developed in the laboratory through the patenting and licensing process to the marketplace and into the hands of consumers and patients.
