Improvements coming in a 'roundabout' way: Australian traffic engineer Michael Wallwork (center, gestering) lends his expertise on roundabouts at a Jan. 26 community workshop held by the Alliance to Improve Emory Village. The workshop offered several ideas for improving the intersection at the village, and a roundabout was the most popular. University officials gathered Jan. 25 near the Quad to plant a gingko tree in honor of Jean Porter, who recently retired after nearly 50 years at Emory. Porter, who started at the the University the first day of April, 1954, served as director of the Emory Well House from its inception in 1986 until her retirement this year.
