University officials gathered Jan. 25 near the Quad to plant a gingko tree in honor of Jean Porter, who recently retired after nearly 50 years at Emory. Porter, who started at the the University the first day of April, 1954, served as director of the Emory Well House from its inception in 1986 until her retirement this year.
